Appthropy: A Major Milestone on the Play Store
Between testing, developing, and waiting, Appthropy has finally made it to the Play store! This is an exciting milestone as we have successfully placed our TaskQuerer app on a major platform: Download TaskQuerer from the Play Store.
Coding and Beyond (Lessons Learned)
- Development: The step I thought was the majority of the work, turned out to be the tip of the iceberg. This included selecting the right framework, writing the code, initial screen and functionality layout, the works.
- Design: Outside of the usual app layout, we needed to get familiar with icon design, create the Play Store entry, and ensure a consistent theme throughout the app.
- Documentation: Not just the application description, but privacy policies that were part of the website were required for publishing the app!
- Process: Navigating through the Play Store submission process came with its own learning curve. Setting up release tracks, modifying code to comply with policies, engaging additional testers, and version control.
Next Steps
Overall, it took about a month from creating a developer account to getting the application in production. Now that I am more familiar with the process, I look forward to getting my Play Store reviews and starting to plan the next big thing!
